Thaddeus O’Neil was born and raised in Suffolk County near the Great South Bay and understands the value of care, commitment, and service within the community.  He is uniquely qualified to serve the people of Suffolk County as an educator (associate adjunct professor at Parsons School of Design), small business owner (founder and creative director of eponymous fashion brand Thaddeus O’Neil), and co-founder of a non-profit organization dedicated to creating equal access to the natural environment (The Fire Place Initiative and Blue Water Vagabond Surf Festival).

Thaddeus Believes in?

  • Transparency for all constituents to improve the quality of life for all.
  • Building bipartisan coalitions to enhance community well-being and public safety.
  • Advocating for the preservation of water resources, open spaces, and the natural environment.
  • Promoting economic growth through investments in green industries, education, and infrastructure.
  • Implementing county-wide initiatives for waste reduction, composting, and recycling to aim for a zero-waste future.
  • Coordinating with local authorities to close the regional landfill, addressing its threats to community health and economic viability.
  • Developing a comprehensive transportation strategy to improve traffic flow, maintain roads, and enhance public transportation services.
“The failure to pass Suffolk’s wastewater treatment plan was a huge missed opportunity to deal with the county’s most pressing environmental need now and into the future…the Suffolk Legislature’s Republican majority has dirty hands.”

Newsday

“Republican legislators voted against a clean water plan for Suffolk County…Politics should not affect our water quality.  This issue is far too important to not be a bi-partisan effort.”
